Burlesque, Pole and mixed media fused together to tell the story of the evolution of rock music in the post-grunge era. This show will be presented in the 2025 Edmonton Fringe Festival at BYOV venue Spotlight Cabaret (8712 104 St, Edmonton AB)
What is the post-grunge era?
Grunge music is a fusion of punk and heavy metal rock that stemmed from a few pioneer bands in Seattle, Washington in the late 80's and early 90's. Following the popularization of Grunge music, the Pacific Northwest drawl vocal style permeated mainstream rock and alternative stations, with many frontmen adopting the gravelly tones and slurred deliveries popularized by icons like Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) and Layne Staley (Alice In Chains). The inspiration of bands following the grunge era is a time which we refer to as the post-grunge era.The term post-grunge itself is telling … a way to separate, to draw a line between the originators and the imitators. It’s like we instinctively knew not to put them in the same canon.

Wripple Rouge - Burlesque
Wripple Rouge: a voluptuous vixen and fools delight! Performing on stages across western Canada since 2016, Wripple draws immense influence from an eclectic dance and music background to bring you her take on the art of the tease. This arctic amazon was practically born into the world of dance, so the day she stumbled upon the diverse and talented burlesque scene in Edmonton it was, naturally, love at first tassel twirl. The bohemian blues babe of the entertainment underworld, this seductive temptress conjures a message of self acceptance, body positivity and empowerment through movement. She’s the perfect concoction of vintage Hollywood glamour and neo eccentric cabaret, qualities that make her an oh so cozy fit with House of Hush and Razz Ma Berries Productions - two burlesque troupes that she is beyond proud to be a part of. With a background in music, an extensive knowledge of jazz history, and a love for everything from big band to rock and roll, you just never know what the soundtrack to your seduction will be next! One thing is for certain; her enchanting ability to tease and tantalize leaves audiences utterly entranced by what can only be known as: the "Wripple Effect."
Sarilla Lafox - Pole & Burlesque
This flirtatious fox has swiftly stolen the hearts of many with her sparkly enchanting persona. Originally hailing from Ontario, she has flourished in Edmonton over the past decade, embarking on a glamorous voyage of self-discovery. Delving into the worlds of burlesque and pole dancing in 2019, she has embraced her authentic self through the art of sensual movement. With her smooth, sultry style and entrancing gaze, she effortlessly commands attention both on and off the stage.As one of YEG’s DollHaus darlings, she exudes elegant feminine power and frequently dazzles audiences alongside her doubles partner at Edmonton's premier nightlife events.Prepare to be mesmerized by the unforgettable allure of Sarilla LaFox.
Onyx - Pole
Onyx is a Canadian icon, known as Queen of the North for her unforgettable stage shows in the erotic entertainment industry. With multiple titles including 2X Miss Nude Canada and Miss Nude Universe, her explosive and dynamic performance style is absoutely unforgettable. Onyx grew up listening to Grunge, and she can't wait to show you how much she really loves this style of music!
Ruby Talons - Pole
Ruby Talons is a captivating pole and gogo dance performer whose flowy yet sharp movement style, deep musical intuition, and commanding stage presence allow her to dance with effortless precision while telling powerful stories that demand the audience’s full attention. As one of Polesque's founding members, Ruby is excited for her second year of rocking out in the Edmonton Fringe Festival!
